Mike Shaw, having overseen multiple industrial controls projects, creates an industrial controls division of Shaw Electric.

Shaw Electric engineers and builds the first of many ride control systems, and Mike Shaw becomes President of the company.

Shaw Electric separates and rebrands its automation controls / engineering division to become Cogito Automation.

Cogito is an early adopter of the most up-to-date safety standards. Adds Functional Safety Engineers Certified by TÜV Rheinland.
